Cross-strait photographers exhibition opens in Taipei

Twenty-nine outstanding works by 39 photographers across the Strait during the Shanghai World Expo will be exhibited in Taipei on July 30th, including works by 24 mainland photographers and 15 Taiwanese photographers. The exhibition will continue until August 5.

The exhibition is one of a series of activities for the “cross-strait photographers on both sides of the strait.” It is jointly sponsored by the Taipei Photographic Society, Fujian Haifeng Publishing House and the Shanghai Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Jiao Honghui, president of Haifeng Publishing Co., stated that photographers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are very rich in the works of the Shanghai World Expo. Although the number of works in this exhibition is limited, they are very representative. The important venues, activities and scenes of the Shanghai World Expo are all in There are performances in the works, hoping to make the people of Taiwan who do not have the opportunity to visit the Shanghai World Expo to better appreciate the style of the Expo.

During the Shanghai World Expo last year, the Taiwanese photography community was invited to Shanghai and mainland colleagues for two times to witness historical moments and focus on the Expo.

According to briefings, this exhibition is the tenth exhibition organized by the “Side and Cross-strait Photographers” series of events. This exchange project has so far been 10 years old, of which 6 exhibitions were held in Taiwan and 8 books were published. During the event, cross-strait photographers have accumulated profound friendship through co-creation, co-exhibition and co-publishing.

Jiao Honghui said that the activities of “cross-strait photographers across the strait” will continue to be implemented in the future.

In an interview with the Xinhua News Agency, Cai Yu, the vice chairman of the Taiwan Strait Culture Cultural Alliance, who led Taiwanese photographers to the mainland for 10 years in a row, said that culture and art are very good platforms for cross-Strait exchanges. Photographers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait collaborate to pass pictures. It is of great significance to record the historical changes on both sides of the Strait and to make the moment of eternity a reality, and to pass on the offspring through the album.

It is reported that the album of this exhibition will also be published in Taiwan.
