Textile traditional brand shines again

Textile traditional brand shines again

In the past, the southern section of Suichang Road spontaneously formed the first textile distribution center in Xuchang. Although the business area was only 10 mu after the reconstruction and expansion, and it accommodated more than 270 shops, the daily passenger flow rushed to form the most prosperous business district in Xuchang.

Today's textile industry park has been relocated to the south section of Wenfeng Road, with an area of more than 200 acres and an average daily turnover of 4 million yuan, making it the largest professional textile market in the province.

The southward migration and upgrading of the textile industry not only polished the traditional brand of Xuchang Textile, but also formed textile industrial chains such as processing, trading, and distribution in the pioneering and innovating process. It also revitalized the human and material resources of the surrounding villages and further promoted it. Xuchang's regional development and urban prosperity.

The old market moved out of Xuchang's first group of Nuggets and the Xuchang textile market. Many Xuchang people will be reminded of the old textile market south of the urban train station.

Before and after 1975, in the open space on the south side of Suichang Road and now opposite the Fatdonglai Life Square, more than a dozen “crackers” supported textile stalls and spontaneously formed Xuchang’s earliest textile market. Although each one of the stalls was placed in the open air, it attracted many tourists and the market became increasingly prosperous. It was their active year that made Xuchang the “first national textile distribution base”.

Li Chuncheng, president of the Chengnan Textile Chamber of Commerce, is one of the first dozen of Xuchang's earliest textile wholesalers. He recalled: “At that time, the road was not called Suichang Road. It was called Chubei Road. It was a dirt road. It was narrow and could only allow two cars to pass through, and it was muddy when it rained. We have more than a dozen self-employed people spontaneously. There were textile stalls on both sides of the road. I didn't expect the business to be good. Later, the number of merchants grew to dozens."

With the gradual prosperity of this textile distribution center, the municipal party committee and the municipal government have paid great attention to renovating not only the original warehouse of the original Xuchang Farmers Center next to the open space, but also plans for the use of space in the east and west of the open space. A commercial building has created a more standardized textile market. This market has been in business for more than 20 years, and many merchants have made a fortune and become the first group of Nuggets in Xuchang. They have also emerged from many entrepreneurs who are active in various fields.

After the 1990s, the number of merchants in the textile market in Suichang Road has grown to more than 270, and the layout of shops has become increasingly dense, and it is no longer possible to enter new merchants. In order to meet the needs of the development of the textile industry, the city began to plan the construction of the textile market in the southern part of the city, which is also known as the Golden Triangle Market south of Xuchang County. The gold triangle market covers an area of more than 20 acres, attracting more than 100 old merchants to migrate here. The pioneering development of the new and old merchants in the new site of the southern city cultivated a well-known Golden Triangle name and formed the embryonic form of the textile market in the south of the city today. When it was time, the Xuchang textile market was ranked as "the three major textile circulation markets in the country" with Zhejiang Keqiao and Jiangsu Nantong, and it was one of the three points in the national textile market.

With the further development of the city, the planning and management of the textile market in our city began to show lag. By 2008, the Golden Triangle market has been unable to meet the demand for the development of the textile market. 80% of the merchants in the market, especially a large part of the top powerful merchants, have moved to Keqiao, Zhejiang, and have supported the Keqiao textile market. “In 2012, when we came to contact with the Henan Chamber of Commerce in Keqiao, we discovered that there were more than 1,500 Xuchang businessmen operating there.” Wang Shijun, director of the Xuchang City South Logistics Park Management Committee, said: “We feel that textiles are the traditional brand of Xuchang. The light was covered and it was time to polish it again."

In order to transform and upgrade the traditional textile market and expand the scope for further development, the textile market has been relocated southwards since 2008, and has gradually moved to the textile industrial park in the south section of Wenfeng Road. Here, the second phase of the park covers a total area of more than 120 acres and has nearly 400 merchants. The shops are neatly planned, the streets are clean and spacious, and the management is more standardized, including more than 60 mu of storage space, showing a modern textile market. Look. In the new textile industry park, the infrastructure is more complete and the supporting services are more thoughtful. Take logistics, the area around the industrial park has been stationed with distribution points for a dozen or so logistics companies. Merchants make a phone call, and trucks come in to load.

“The textile market has become more and more concentrated and fame has become louder and louder. The textile shops in Xuchang, which had been lost to Keqiao and Nantong in the early years, have gradually returned in the past two years and have expanded the ranks of the textile industry in Xuchang.” Departmental Party Committee Xue Jianfeng introduction.

The bigger the shop is, the bigger the business is and the younger Liu Bing is a "second generation of textiles." Her parents worked in the textile market of Suichang Road in the early years and then moved south to the Golden Triangle Market and rented two stores with a total area of 560 square meters. “At that time, the market conditions were limited, the road was very narrow, and the supporting facilities were not complete,” recalls Liu Bing. In 2010, they relocated to the current textile industry park with the market, rented 6 pavings, and operated various textile products. The types of products and turnover were several times larger than before.

After the business was handed over to Liu Bing’s hands, she opened up a new business path and began processing the fabrics herself. She buys yarn from a textile mill, finds a white fabric at a processing plant, or finds a fabric printed by a printing and dyeing factory. This is a case of light white cloth. Her store has dozens of different fabrics. She also hired a dozen or so workers to process home textile products and rented four warehouses. In addition to the one warehouse on the market, there were three separate institutions for storage. Liu Bing could not help but say: "Now the market is famous, there are many regular customers, transportation and logistics are better than before, and the products are selling better. We have to be busy every day to deliver goods."

Merchant Tan Li has opened a textile shop in the textile industry park. The products he operates have hundreds of designs and cover high, medium and low-end products. Her family started doing business in the old textile market in Suichang Road since 1990. Later, she moved to the Golden Triangle market and rented a store of 20 to 20 square meters. “At that time, the market was small, we could not develop, and the product variety was not enough to attract many customers. The products were mainly sold in the surrounding cities in Xuchang. What is like now, not only the customers of Kaifeng, Zhoukou and Zhumadian came to me? We have old customers in Fujian, Hebei, Ningxia, etc.” Tan Li added, “There was no logistics company at the time, and the shipment was not very convenient. We had to transport our own tricycles to the side of the Gongnong Road. The company has been far away for a long time. Now that it is much more convenient, a telephone and a logistics company's car will come over."

Merchant Li Yuxia said: “What business is it is that it will be bigger. Many merchants originally had only one or two houses in the Golden Triangle market. Now there are three or four shops in this area, and the business is big. The varieties are also managed. With more, the benefits have been correspondingly improved. We are now drawing our own cloths, looking for pattern printing, processing, and exporting products every day. We don’t have to sell two or three thousand dollars a day.”

Li Chuncheng said: “Now, the textile merchants in Xuchang not only include the merchants in the Chengnan Textile Industrial Park, but also the old merchants who stay near the warehouse road, and rank among the top in terms of quantity and scale in the country.”

Driven by the increase of dozens of villages in the surrounding area, driven by the agglomeration effect of the textile industry, Chengnan also gave birth to a complete textile industry chain of processing, trading, distribution, etc., forming a positive interaction with localities and stimulating the surrounding dozens of villages. Get rich.

“As far as Liyuan Village is concerned, the textile industry park has increased the income of the village by more than 10 million yuan a year. On the one hand, it is used as rent for warehouses on the one hand, and labor costs for loading, transport, and processing on the other. Li Chuncheng said: "Now, every household in Liyuan Village has no idlers and can sew sewing machines to process finished sheets, blankets, children's clothes, etc. Every household has no free house, either stores textiles or processes textiles inside."

Merchant Tan Li also hired the villagers to help her fabricate the fabric: “We buy fabrics from Shandong and Jiangsu, and then process it in the surrounding area. The monthly processing fee will be 20,000 to 300,000 yuan per month.”

“Despite the simple processing of textiles, our textiles have not only been distributed to all parts of the country, but also to more than a dozen countries in the Middle East and West Asia.” Wang Shijun believes that urban development depends on industrial support, and industrial development promotes urban prosperity. This model of adding markets to the market has led to increased incomes in the surrounding areas such as Liyuan, Li Jian, Dashiqiao, Garden and Linyi. The surrounding manpower, premises and other resources have also promoted the development of the textile industry in Xuchang. In addition, in order to further enhance the brand benefits of Xuchang Textiles, Xuchang County is also planning to build a part of the area in the soon-to-be-completed Hongan Trade Port, which will be used to display and trade high-end home textile products and further promote the development and growth of the textile industry in Xuchang.
