Following the fall of 2009, izzue chose David Bowie as a central figure for its advertising campaign and launched an exciting new project. This collaboration featured three original T-shirts and co-designed pieces with various creative units such as GOMME, LUTZ, ALPHA INDUSTRIES, FRENCH CONNECTION, 5CM, and underground. The collection included nine unique T-shirts to celebrate the brand's tenth anniversary, each inspired by iconic photos of David Bowie and his signature typography.
The designs retained izzue’s signature color palette—black, white, gray, and red—while incorporating bold and striking elements that reflected Bowie's artistic energy. Beyond being a legendary musician, Bowie was also an actor, record producer, and songwriter. He was known for pushing boundaries, especially in the 1970s, when he incorporated gender-fluid elements into his fashion, hairstyles, and makeup. This made him highly attuned to emerging trends and cultural shifts.
In 2002, Bowie was named the fourth most influential person in the BBC's poll of "Popular British People." His influence continues to resonate across generations. Now, the David Bowie collection is officially available at izzue stores in China, starting November 27.
