Pakistani government implements medium and long-term measures to revitalize textile industry

Shahid Rashid, Pakistani textile ministry, said the government is actively working to effectively carry out medium and long-term measures to promote the growth of its textile industry.

At the meeting of the Textile Policy Implementation and Liaison Committee, he said that efforts should be made to implement medium and long-term measures, such as technical reform standards and technical projects, and cooperation with the private sector in infrastructure development projects.

He added that short-term measures have already been implemented.

The meeting aimed to examine the implementation of textile policies and discuss the first phase of expenditure plans for the future implementation process of Textile Law, the Technical Reform Program (TUFS) and the short-term plan.

Mr. Rashid informed that according to the DLTL scheme, INR 750 million has been approved this year, and the Ministry of Textiles has asked the Ministry of Finance to issue Rs. 3 billion, but so far only 1 billion Pakistani rupees have been issued.
