"Recycled clothing" will enter the lives of the people

According to the Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai, June 14 (Reporter Wu Yu), the reporter learned from the 15th Shanghai International Textile Industry Exhibition opened here on the 14th that “supporting the recycling of waste textiles” was first written in “China.” The "Twelfth Five Year Plan" (2011-2015) for the textile industry will be announced in the near future. This means that like recycled paper and recycled plastics, "recycled clothing" will also enter the lives of the people.

According to the relevant person in charge of the China Textile Industry Association, the policy guiding the development direction of China's textile industry in the next five years is mainly composed of four sentences: First, to promote the industrialization and application of high-tech and new-generation functional and differentiated fibers, and second, Accelerating the development of industrial textiles, the third is to promote the autonomy of high-end textile machinery and accessories, and the fourth is to support recycling of waste textiles.

According to the plan, in the next five years, China will initially establish a recycled fiber recycling and recycling system. By 2015, the national total fiber processing volume is expected to reach 51.5 million tons, of which about 15% will be recycled fiber.

In addition to technological research and industrial support, how ordinary consumers can accept “new materials” such as “recycled fabrics” and “recycled garments” from the heart is also a “hurdle” that needs to be passed. Recently, Shanghai began to give dry and wet garbage cans to families in some pilot communities. Among them, dry garbage cans can be used to recycle used textiles and plastic bottles. However, if these wastes are “changed” into “recycled clothes”, whether they can be accepted by consumers remains to be tested.
