WHY HOZEN?

I’ve always been drawn to brands that align with my values, and HOZEN really resonates with me. The founder, Rae, is someone I admire greatly. She left behind a stable corporate job to create something meaningful—a vegan bag line that’s both stylish and eco-conscious. Watching her journey has been incredibly inspiring. It’s reminded me how important it is to pursue passions, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone. HOZEN isn’t just about fashion; it’s about making a statement for sustainability and animal welfare. Each bag feels like a small victory for the planet, and they’re definitely conversation starters! I’ve found myself explaining the brand’s mission countless times—it’s become part of my personal advocacy too.

 

DESCRIBE YOUR LOOK.

I’m all about simplicity and comfort, but I do enjoy dressing up occasionally. For everyday wear, I stick to basics that make me feel put-together without much effort. My mornings usually involve a quick routine—my hair gets some waves, I swipe on tinted moisturizer, add a touch of bronzer, mascara, and fill in my brows (because let’s face it, unruly brows ruin any look). In New England, where I live, seasons dictate my wardrobe. Skinny jeans, flip-flops, sneakers, tees, oversized sweaters, and a midi sundress are staples. When I dress up, I tend to go for something elegant yet effortless—maybe a tailored blazer paired with sleek trousers or a classic cocktail dress.

 

IDEAL DAY?

My perfect day starts with a morning workout to clear my mind, followed by a cup of coffee while enjoying natural light streaming through the windows. Then comes quality time outdoors with my family—whether it’s working on a home project or simply relaxing in the backyard. Evenings are reserved for unwinding: maybe a glass of wine, a cozy dinner, and a family movie night. Bedtime? Early enough to recharge for the next day!

 

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR DOWN TIME?

Self-care is non-negotiable for me. Taking time to relax and recharge helps me show up better for my family and myself. I’ll often hit a Pure Barre class, indulge in a spa treatment, or go shopping solo. There’s something therapeutic about organizing my home—it brings me peace knowing everything has its place. And reading! I love diving into books, especially lighthearted fiction. Right now, I’m hooked on Elin Hilderbrand’s novels—they transport me to another world and provide much-needed escapism from the chaos of parenting.

 

 

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Living a simpler life has become my ultimate goal. As I grow older, I find myself gravitating toward minimalism. Ever since I was young, clutter has stressed me out. I couldn’t focus on homework until my workspace was spotless. Now, as an adult, I bring that same mindset to decorating my homes—I prefer clean lines and functional design. After having my sons, I battled anxiety and realized simplifying wasn’t just about tidying up—it applied to every aspect of my life. Today, I avoid overloading their schedules, paused my nursing career temporarily, and prioritize self-care. It’s all about doing more of what brings me joy.

 

FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD?

Switzerland holds a special place in my heart. During college, I studied abroad there and fell deeply in love—with its lush green mountains, crisp mountain air, charming architecture, alfresco dining experiences, and relaxed pace of life. It’s where I learned to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me.

GUILTY PLEASURE?
